NAA Sneak Peek: Technology to Take-on Maintenance and Fair Housing


As the National Apartment Association’s (NAA) Apartmentalize 2021 is fast approaching, multifamily operators and supplier partners alike make their way to Chicago for two and a half days of education and connection.

It has been more than two years since NAA was in-person. And, now we strive to Focus Forward – and find ways to reconnect, to restart and to reenergize as an industry.  

One of the thought-provoking sessions at this year’s Apartmentalize will dive into the unintentional ways that fair housing compliance may be at risk.  

Even before the pandemic altered the way business and service was conducted on site, the maintenance teams were often ones a resident interacted with the most—either while on community grounds or in an apartment during a repair project.  

Today, there are more interactions between maintenance teams and residents. With the increase in interaction, the higher the potential for more fair housing complaints.

Terry Danner, CEO of SightPlan, will sit down with Matt DeGraw, President of Bridge Property Management to discuss how to effectively embrace maintenance’s new priority role in resident relations while also mitigating the potential of fair housing violations. They will share insights into how technology can prioritize tasks, the importance of real-time service tracking and updates and the benefit of automated and customizable task completion procedures to mitigate fair housing violations.
